Shocker

So my beautiful bride-to-be tells me that she's not a bookstore person.............................. 'breathe' I have to tell myself...............ok, all better.

My response: "I thought you liked books?"

Her reply: "My dad could totally get lost in a bookstore and be happy as a clam, but me, I could care less."

Talk about "Opposites Attract."

So, what about you guys out there? Do your significant others share the same passion for books that you do?

Funny! No, not really. He's not a big reader, but we do share other passions. ;)

Nope! He hasn't read a book since school. I'm trying to force him to read 'The Beach'.

Lana reads and likes books OK, but she's more of a visual artist. She loves how much I love books, though.

Nope, but I drag him to the bookstore every week anyway. And he drags me to Home Depot (AKA Hell on Earth).

Um no. Not even in the slightest. Sometimes I'm okay with it and sometimes it really nags at me. In a let's evaluate this relationship kind of way but in the end I deal because he let's me do whatever saying, "as long as it makes you happy gorgeous". He gets with the gorgeous every time. And just so it is clear, I LOVE action flicks and home depot so he has the best of both worlds why can't I?

Um Void? On a different note. WHERE IS YOUR KISSING SCENE? I'm throughly disappointed you are not participating. Now I know your WIP probably doesn't have one but just make one up. THink about that girl in school and if you had to do it all over again you would have done _________. You fill in the blank. I'll be checking back later for something steamy.

I'll be posting something soon, it might be delayed since I only learned today about the kissing bloggy thing lol. I'll try to steamify (ooh I made another new word) you all shortly.

Wow, what a blow.

I took my DH into a bookstore a few months ago on a date. I think that was the first time he'd ever really been in one. He enjoyed the experience quite a bit.

Tamara I thought you said your husband wrote a book? And he hasn't been into a bookstore??

My wife loves books-just not half as much as I do-she just accepts how into them I am.

nope, my hubby hates to read anything, even instructions on how to install parts into the cars he works on. LOL He hates to write too, though I know he writes rather well. I typed all his papers/stories in college. :)

No! My husband doesn't read anything besides news and sports online!! I spent like, three years trying to convert him before I realized, as long as he lets me raise the children as readers, and lets make my trips to the bookstore without any issues, we're going to be okay. Opposites attract, case in point!

My husband hadn't read a book "for fun" since he was eight years old (and didn't read half the books he was supposed to in high school either). It took one Harry Potter and he was hooked. It probably won't work for everybody.
