So, a lot has happened since I took my hiatus to focus on getting married and I missed a lot of posts. I'd love to know what's been going on with everyone, but I just don't have the time to comb through the myriads of articles and posts that I've missed. That's where this post comes in. Please leave me a comment telling me if I missed anything major from your blog while I was in hiding (I.E. You were signed with a publishing house or agent etc...)
I'd also love to catch up on everyone to know what your WIP (work in progress) is. Please answer the following for me, if you don't mind.

Hi Void! What a great reason to be away!! Congratulations and welcome back. As for your request, sure I'll play: My WIP doesn't have a title yet, but for now I call it Fated. I'm probably around 25k words in. The genre is YA paranormal, and I'm excited about working on it.

1. Web
A bit of explanation... I finished the first draft 1 1/2 years ago, and had worked on revisions for a LONG time after that, then worked on some other stuff (as my main). I actually posted a snippet of one of those "other things" on my blog today, if you're interested. Now I'm back to working on Web as my main project.
2. I honestly don't know. Since I decided to start working on it again, it is going through a complete rearranging/rewrite. I also posted about that this past week, under the post title How Much Do You Love Your Story.
3. Science fiction (that was an easy one)
4. Entomologist and medical research scientist, Olessa Skye, works toward completing the formula of her dead father's "miracle" serum while deciphering clues about her father's murder and the assassination attempts on her and her twin brother's lives.
It's a mix between space opera and hard sf. Think aliens, space travel, and lots of explosions.

As for your questions...
If I could commit to only working on one story right now I'd tell you all about it.
Ha, actually, one of the novels I'm writing is a lit fic piece (currently doesn't have a title), has something to do with karma, and involves three sisters. I'm 10k in and plan about 80-90k more (probably a little longer). Good questions!
Current WIP is Bless the Child, it is about an exiled Spartan around about 600 B.C. I have him crossing paths with a number of historical persons-Solon, Sappho, Psenophis, and some biblical ones too-Nebuchadnezzar, Daniel, Jeremiah and Zedekiah. I like to think of it Speculative Historical.
The word count is 65,000 and I'm gonna bump it up to at least 80,000. The climax will be the afrtermath of the fall of Jerusalem in 589 B.C. I git part of the idea when I found out how many Greeks served as mercenaries in these Holy Land wars.

4. Two gay teens' paths criss and cross until they are wrapped around each other, but then a stronger and unlikely bond forms after they discover they are to become stepbrothers. Or something like that...

David: Sounds very intricate. I'm sure it will take on a very 'epic' theme. Speculative history is fun since nobody can refute it.
Jonathon: Does YA have a subgenre for LBGT? I was unaware of such a thing, not that stories would have those elements, but that there was an actual section or genre dedicated for it?

And I refuse to post anything about my current WIP because it's a Grrr situation...but I will say that it's about discovering the true meaning of family and where you come from.

It reminds me of this nightmare that has haunted me forever about hands coming out of the walls...
I'm going back and forth between two WIPs, the second is consuming me right now but I have passion for both.
The first WIP, The Language of Little Sun, about 37K, it’s a YA paranormal romance. The second WIP, Day Glow Blue (working title), about 22K, is a YA dystopian romance. This one, has my fullest attention because I am taking a completely different approach.
So far, I am able to slip out of character and work on both, depending on my mood.
So Void, how about your WIP?
I am not sure about it being a genre as much as it is probably a label...
