Fantasy Friday

Ok, my earlier post stunk. It bored me to tears... Let's have a little more end-of-the-week fun.

Here's the scenario:

You've been shipped out to an exotic island, one where you'll have access to everything you need to write a novel. You have a deadline of 2 calendar years to complete it. Beyond the bare essentials, you are allowed to bring one person and one object. Here's the catch though, you and your mystery guest can talk ONLY about your novel. Nothing else! They are to be your idea sparker, your muse, your... you get the idea. As for the object, it can be anything, so long as it will help you write your novel successfully.

Who is the 1 person you bring?

What is the 1 object you bring and the reason it will help?

Wow, two years to complete the novel? I think I could write at LEAST two books in that time...probably more. Especially being stuck on an island.

I would want to bring my husband...although I am not sure he would have fun only talking about my book :D Either him or my son.

Hmmm...as long as I have my laptop, a means to use it, pens...well, I can't see myself needing much else. But one thing I cannot live without: Note Cards. They help greatly when I plot my projects. And work even better with revision.

What about you?

I LOVE that pic. :)

Well, I should pick some hot guy like Channing Tatum but I'm not sure he'd be fun to talk about writing with.

So, I'd choose Megan Rebekah. Friend and CP. She always helps me improve my stories and we'd mange to bend the rules so that we could talk about her writing too. :)

Object...Ipod.

Fun post! :)

I want to play! I want to play!

Does it have to be a real person? Could I bring like a character from a movie? It's my fantasy you know. I'm thinking Orlando Bloom's character "Shy" from the movie "Haven." (it's twisted but his devotion and passion are what I love about him, SHy that is.) Or , oh oh oh, Peeta from the book Hunger Games.

Now I know what you are thinking "How's a guy going to help you write a book?" But I'm thinking there won't be much talking we can role plan and make-out like we are 17 (I am writing YA romance you know) and....ahem...okay I keep the rest of my fantasy off page but you get my point.

Okay okay fine! If you force me to pick someone I have to say Brian Farrey, an editor with Flux. His interview on Crow's Nest drew me in and he likes YA dystopian novels. I think my latest piece would be right up his alley.

Object...I'm with Karen, my ipod jam packed with good stuff. Assuming there is electricity there.

Thanks for the fun post I hope I didn't disappoint.

Hmmm, as much as I would love to bring DH, I don't think we'd get much talking done.

Hey, I write juvenile lit, get your head out of the gutter. I meant because he doesn't READ novels.

So, I think I'd have to bring my dear daughter. She's right at that age group and without having to drag her butt shopping, we'd actually get a lot of writing done.

As to the object: my two-year-super-charged Kindle.

*grins sheepishly* You know, for research purposes.
